One Thousand Gifts

I've been reading A Holy Experience off and on for many, many, many months, probably several years. I adore Ann and her gentle perspective on living in the moment and The Giver of grace, but I can only take so much of Ann. As an always reforming Truth seeker, Grace and I haven't always been the best of friends. Ann poignantly reminds me of that.

After too much Ann, I generally end up in a puddle, sobbing before The One who knows my struggles before I even realize that something isn't quite right. The humility of falling before the Throne of Grace is a good place, but I can only stay for so long. The kids clamor and dinner calls.

He waits.

As always, for "such a time as this" He placed One Thousand Gifts in my hands this weekend.

I am changed.

In the last few years of pain and frustration, I had forgotten. But I remember now: thanksgiving. aaah Yes!

Thanksgiving for...

1. cleansing tears
2. healing tears
3. grace
4. truth
5 a Saviour who knows and lives
6. bright winter sunshine that pours through front windows
7. hot showers on cold mornings
8. driveway light posts with big red bows, knee-deep in snow, that remind me of Narnia
9. the gorgeous shade of plum in our dining room
10. luscious bed sheets the color of spring

May we find 1000 gifts everyday.
Blessings!
Janel
